SigniFire IP

SigniFire IP™ combines the enhanced resolution and picture clarity of a standard network camera with built-in fire, smoke and motion detector capabilities.  It operates autonomously by utilizing a powerful Texas Instruments DSP media processor running axonX’s proprietary software. The detection events are instantly reported to the Digital Video Management (DVM) system over a standard network connection and/or communicated to a Fire Alarm Control Panel through a configurable dry contact relay mounted onto the backplane of the camera.

Algorithms Sensitivity Levels

Each detection algorithm runs independently on the camera. This allows the end user to adjust the sensitivity settings (low, medium, high, and ultra (smoke only) or turn off an algorithm altogether.  The built in flexibility allows the customer a wide range of options in setting up a SigniFire™ system to meet their needs.

Detection /Exclusion Zones

Each SigniFire IP™ camera can be configured with multiple detection and/or exclusion zones within the field of view.  These zones are the areas in the picture set up to either detect specific events (fire, smoke and motion) within the zone, or detect events everywhere except the zone.  The activation of each zone can be also linked to a time schedules so the zone will be active only at certain times.  For example the motion detection zone in the hallway can be active only at night or on the weekends.  Similarly, if the area is known for steam release occurring at certain periods of time, smoke detection exclusion zone can be defined and linked to a schedule when such release is expected to avoid nuisance.

The zones, combined with algorithm sensitivities allow the end-user endless configuration options to match their requirements and provide optimal system performance.

Network-Friendly

SigniFire IP™ communicates with the outside world by using HTTP protocol and supports variable frame rate mode for bandwidth conservation.  Video is streamed in open standard MJPEG format so no proprietary codec is required by the client software.  A web server is built-in in every SigniFire IP™ camera to allow easy configuration using any type of popular browser.

Fire Control Panel interface

SigniFire IP™ camera can connect directly to a Fire Alarm Control Panel as a regular smoke and fire detector via three built-in dry-contact relays mounted on the backplane of each camera.  These relays are configurable to signal alarms such as flames, smoke, motion and fault conditions which include no picture, camera out of focus, lo-light situations.  The dry contacts can also be programmed by the end-user to include a delay of the relay closure on specific events to allow video verification before the Panel is notified. This delay can help to eliminate or reduce the possibility of nuisance alarms.
